What did I tell you?

Legs ARE coming around. True to my word, I improved on my result yesterday!

I feel like such a super pro bike racer. Sleeping late, getting chauffeured to my races, handing off my jacket at the start line…

Awesome.

Not much to report from Nathan’s house here in Providence. I raced the Caster’s GP today and had a 99% solid race. Good start, decent first few laps, hooked up with Justin Spinelli and we started riding away from Dan Neyens and Michael Gallagher when I took a little bobble in a rideable sand section and whacked my knee on the bars. It is ok but, that left me a few bike lengths behind Justin which, I could not make up. The Myerson, Tonkin, Tolouse super pro group was, at one point, in spitting distance. But, once I was left to chase Spinelli and keep away from super fast Gallagher we lost our chance to catch them.

That is my race report. I felt pretty good. I’m disappointed that I did not get up to the Tonkin group.

So, my nationals predictions?

From the way it looks, ignore the bunny hopping barriers stuff, Jeremy Powers (jpows for those in the know) is going really fucking fast right now. He skipped the race today, as did Todd Wells (wellsy or something like that) who, is not going as well as he would like. Ryan Trebon (I hate the treefarm nickname) just got 10th in the most recent SuperPrestige which should be a good boost for the morale but, knowing what little I do about Ryan he is probably still disappointed that he did not podium. Jon Page is out, broken wing. Oh yes, Tim Johnson. If you have not noticed, he has been playing bridesmaid to Trebon all fall. Don’t count out Barry Wicks either.

The thing is, it is not going to be wet this nationals or even really that cold. Ryan and Barry will tag team the competition again on a Gloucester-esque nationals course in Providence:

1st – Ryan Trebon
2nd – Tim Johnson
3rd – Jeremy Powers

Vegan Belgian waffles!Or maybe Powers will win it if Ryan breaks another seatpost and mechanicals out.

Fuck yeah! I had an ironic breakfast:

I had so many hecklers and supporters at the race today! I heard Dan Action yelling “CAMERON” and laughing manically, “vegan power!” was shouted out and I swear that Spinelli’s ladyfriend was cheering for me too.

Thanks. It makes the racing just a little bit easier.
