Spending time in Seattle after racing the Labor day cyclocross championships.
Shannon surprised everyone by showing up and demonstrating amazing finesse over the barriers. We did some attacking and blocking. Shannon and I took it 1-2 style. I felt miserable! Very good to get the first race out of the way in a low key manner.
Hanging out at Cascade bicycle studio: my pal Zac Daab’s shop. I’m learning about bike fit and method. Checking out the scene in the Fremont neighborhood. Lighthouse coffee roasters, Belgian pubs, SRM cranks, training in the park.
Spent the evening a couple nights ago at my dad’s house in Puyallup. Back porch BBQ. Most of my family was there. My little twin brothers, my other half brother Rob and his wife. It was great. Felt like being home.
While at the Labor day CX I ran in to some Canadian pals who let me know the UCI CX race in Vancouver, BC is CANCELED! Damn, that was going to be fun and a good chance to snag some UCI points.
Now I am off. Driving home early to miss the f’ed Seattle rush hour traffic.
