Parbo and I regrouped in Louisville (thanks Drew!) after I flew in Friday evening. Quickly unpacking and building up my bikes, we sped our way straight up to Cincinnati to Mitch and Kate’s house. Arriving around midnight (I was on a training ride at 6am the same morning.) We hit the hay and slept hard.
Mitch’s house is sweet. Old and euro. Parbo and I made coffee and had a nice breakfast before running kinda late to the Java Johnny’s UCI cat 2 race in Madison, Ohio!
All the comments about the Speedvagens! I’ll get photos up on Monday or Tuesday. Everything has been so frantic just getting out to Ohio. 2 new bikes, more new Edge wheels. Scrambling to get it all together and built then debuilt and packed up into the bike boxes.
My flights were ok, I was exhausted and slept most of the way.
The racing went well today. I had a solid start and yo-yo’d off of Brent Prenzlow and Brandon Dwight. Mike Sallashea and I kinda worked together/battled it out and he had some mechanical trouble and I got 5th place. Parbo snagged 2nd behind a casual Barry Wicks.
Watched american football with some dogs. Literally. That and the dogs were watching the carebears when I woke up this morning. And they ate my clifshots and bars out of my bag when we were at the race…
Parbo and I went to Trader Joe’s (it was his first time). “wow! facking hell these ginger treats are only $2 US! Wow.” We/he whipped up some pasta/aubergine/burdock and I handled the salad and bread. Sat down to a nice dinner with Mitch and Kate. Parbo mused about the “2 buck chuck.”
Tomorrow I’ll improve on my result.
Rock on Molly. I hope that Sunday sees you kicking some serious boo-tay.
i just ate a bag of tj’s peanut butter filled pretzels
Did you find the stroop waffels at TJ’s? They are disguised under the name of caramel bites.
