Flatted out of the Granogue race today. The first tyre went flat on the first lap “prologue” loop. Or I should say, I flatted it on a rock. I did however, baby it to the pit, get the spare bike and proceed to flat that somewhere in the next lap.
No more bikes to ride, I jogged to the pit disappointed. (okay, Ethan tried to hand my A bike with a different wheel on it but, I was deflated mentally and just headed back to the car)
Race over.
Not even my new kit could protect me. From the rocks. I was even running a hard pressure! (over26 psi for me: 2bar! 2bar!)
I did get to buy a spare Dugast off of Stu from cyclocrossworld and I am spending yet another evening gluing up wheels. (thanks stu, you helped me out in a pinch.) I spooged a ton of Stan’s in the blown FMB in an effort to revive it. It seems to be holding air now so, I may just run it tomorrow. I dunno.
I cannot really comment on the race today. Botched my favorite race, missed some UCI points, wasted 2 brand new tyres! I am a bit of a headcase right now. Hard to take it all in stride. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning too.![]()
The racers who raced looked awesome. Parbo had a rough start and pulled it together to have a good result. 6th place for him.
Niels beat Sven today. I bet Sven is crying harder than you right now. Seriously. F’ that Wasington CX racing; we’re going to Cross Crusade it tomorrow. Better luck at Wis-SICK-HISS-ON.

Focus Cameron-son….use the force.

We are all pulling for you.
Good luck this weekend.
Bummer all round. You’ll get ‘em tomorrow.
sorry to hear molly – good luck today. didn’t know you could stan’s latex tubes?
I’ve never had any luck with it before. But, I warmed up and left the “flatted” FMB in the pit. Did not lose a single bit of air all day!
I’m stoked but, it did not really matter at the point in the race when all there air went out of it.
I wonder if it will “prevent” flats in the future? We will see.
