Cyclocross nationals race report:

It was amateur hour over here:

Wore my Assos winter gloves at the start, my hands froze 2 laps in, and I had to pit for some warmer ones. That was the end of my race.

STOEMERIK!!

On a related note:

I’m proud of the Vanilla team. Kevin Hulick had a dead last start and muscled his way up into 4th place in the 35+ race. Solomon had a solid ride snagging 18th and Shannon dominated the scowling old bastard award in the Elite race.

Go team!

  1. I thought you had a great race at nationals – it is even more impressive now that i know that you pitted for gloves. Make sure you are prepared for Belgian weather when you come over. It is freezing over here.

  2. Ah…

    Thanks Christine.

It was a rookie move, I was fine during all of the warm up laps and pre riding. I guess the temps dropped or something…

We will see how well I am going this week in Antwerpen!
