My first Cross Crusade elite win ever! Been trying for the last 4 years! This is the first season that I have not been sick or injured going into October and well, I hope it pays off with exciting battles for the rest of the Crusades!
Heck, even got a Velonews write up! I think the first thing out of Brad Ross’ mouth was: “dear god, a vegan won a cx crusade”.
There is no video of the finish but, I squealed kinda like this when I crossed the line:
Cyclocross build has a good re-cap + bunch of good race reports out there, 1300 riders?! WTF? That is soo many people. Yeah, I am pumped.

What a day, and what a week. I cannot put into words how shitty my week was last week. Everything seems to fall apart at once eh?
A huge, huge thanks to Jacob Winfield. Having good race support is key. Shit, if I had to do the pit exchange all by my self in the 2nd lap, I may not have even been able to bridge back up to Erik and Sean!

Molly- casual fan struggling in the SS race, cheered you on as you passed (while trying to get out of the way) but was totally floored to see you helping a fellow racer put a chain back on. Major props. Riders like yourself are a constant source of inspiration to casual joes like me. Congrats on your win!

molly, i was there, and your finish line “squeal”/roar was way more impressive than howard deans. he sounded like hed run out of lung capacity – i think you had time to recover a little while zipping the jersey all PRO-like
