at interbike? awesome idea as far as getting stars to come (early season, promo opportunity…), but cross in vegas in september? UGH. brutal dust-fest in potentially boiling temps. not *my* idea of fun. but then, i think the cross season starts too early and wastes too much time with the lousy august-september-october weather anyhow these days :)

i still vote for a uci world cup race in portland in the mud! weve got the terrain – i always tell people that this region of oregon reminds me a lot of belgium… (except hillier)

and not only *that*, but had the finish line been 20 meters farther away, katie was coming on strong – 2nd by only 1 second.

*and* theres a us world cup race next year, probably in providence, with the uci top 25 coming.

the big question is, can they come up with a course thatll be up to world cup standards? i think it was trebon who commented that the providence course is too fast, and will end up in a bunch sprint. freaking scary.

of course, we all know that the world cup race should *really* be in portland.
